I moved to Sedona, Arizona in 1987 after a thirty-year journey from the East Coast, a decade here and there along the way until these red rocks welcomed me home. I studied art in college, receiving a BA in graphic design from American University in Washington, DC. I strayed from my art into various entrepreneurial pursuits over the years and decided to change that after moving to Sedona. An opportunity to become a partner in a local art gallery presented itself and I pursued my own art in my spare time. There was painting: watercolor, oils and pastels; then sculpting for bronze casting. After that came production clay work. I taught workshops, showed my work around the country and won some awards along the way. I left the gallery in 1997 to work full-time in my home studio with the help and complete support of my two dogs, Molly (on the left) and Gracie (on the right, forgot how to get rid of the glowing eyes). |

My current passion is making lampwork beads and designing wonderful necklaces, bracelets and earrings for them. My beads are made primarily from Italian Moretti glass. The glass is heated in a flame until it is molten, then wrapped around a stainless steel rod called a mandrel. The bead is shaped in the flame, adorned with dots or spots, or not! It is then placed in a computerized kiln and annealed overnight for lasting strength and durability. |
